La Figuera is in a small town called Caldes d'Estrac on the coast. It is directly reachable from Barcelona in 40-50 min with the R1 trainline, and a 10-15 min walk from the station.

Coming from Barcelona by public transport

Take Rodalies R1 regional train:

• from any of the following stations in the city: Sants, Placa Catalunya, Arc de Triomphe, el Clot.
• Make sure you get in an R1 train that goes towards one of these final destinations: *Blanes, Calella, Arenys de Mar, Massanet-Massanes. Occasionally there is also an RG1 to Portbou or Figueres. *DO NOT take one that says “Mataro”, since that ends two stops before our town.
• Get out at Caldes D’Estrac Station.
• Tickets: To get from BCN center out here, it is best you take a Metrocard, 3 Zones. If you buy a Rodalies ticket, it is in Zone 4, which will be a bit more expensive.

The train runs every 7-10 mins at rush hour, and every 25 mins in the middle of the day.

Getting from the station to La Figuera

It is a 15 min walk from the train station to our house, up the hill. There is a shortcut, up a staircase on Cami Vell. See map drawing below!
